Tsuruhashi Shopping Street in Osaka's Higashinari Ward represents one of the city's most distinctive cultural quarters, known as Osaka's Koreatown with more than 800 Korean restaurants, clothing shops, and grocery stores. The area evolved from a post-war black market and has transformed into a thriving commercial district that retains the retro atmosphere of the period right after the end of the war.

The market comprises six markets and shopping streets with a total of about 800 stores, creating an extensive shopping complex. The maze-like streets are a defining characteristic of the area, adding to its unique atmosphere. The district specializes in Korean ingredients, seasonings, yakiniku restaurants, and specialty stores selling dried goods and daily necessities.
