1. Introduction to Kyudo

Your adventure begins with the challenge of a target placed just six meters from the shooting line. Although it may appear close, hitting it is a unique challenge, especially for beginners. However, in Kyudo, the journey toward the target is as significant as reaching it. You'll start by embracing the role of a traditional Japanese archer by dressing in Kyudo uniforms, including the Dogi (upper wear) and Hakama (lower wear).

2. Learning the Art of Kyudo

Following the dressing ceremony, a seasoned Kyudo master will guide you through the art form's essentials. Through careful instruction, explanation, and expert demonstration, you'll gain valuable insights into this ancient practice. Then, using the knowledge you've absorbed, you'll have the opportunity to take up the bow and arrow to attempt to strike the target. In Kyudo, shooting is not merely about skill; it's about mindfulness, focus, and connecting with your inner spirit.

3. The Philosophy of Kyudo

Unlike Western archery, which emphasizes hitting the target, Japanese Kyudo is more concerned with the archer's spirit and mindfulness. You'll discover how this practice transcends mere physicality and becomes a spiritual journey. Striking a bulls-eye is considered a harbinger of good luck and could even fulfill a wish. Yet, whether or not you hit the mark, you'll leave this unique tour with a rich and rewarding experience.
