The Great Buddha of Kamakura is a national treasure and truly awe-inspiring in person. I first knew about it from an episode of Kochikame, where Ryo-san gets stuck inside the statue — seeing it up close gave me instant déjà vu. Standing tall under the blue sky, the Buddha radiates calm and grandeur, a powerful reminder of Japan’s timeless spirit. Definitely worth the visit.
