As I was driving along the road, a small parking lot suddenly appeared, and there was a sign that seemed to indicate a tourist spot, so I decided to stop by.
The Kanahama Spectacles Bridge was nice, but perhaps because I'm not very familiar with it, even after seeing the sign, I didn't quite grasp the significance of the fault line.
Judging from the sign, the fault line seems to be the main attraction, but the "Kanahama Spectacles Bridge" completely steals the spotlight!
I thought it was a cultural heritage site that shouldn't be crossed, but it was an active stone bridge, so I was able to walk across. However, this bridge is hard to find. 🤨
I saw it right along National Route 251, but I wasn't sure where to approach it. 😥 I walked cautiously down an alleyway that looked like a private home's grounds or front yard, looking around like a suspicious person, until I finally arrived. 😅 It turns out that it would have been easier to find it if I'd taken the other street on the ocean side, and I wouldn't have looked suspicious. 🥲
This is where I found Meganebashi Bridge.
There was a parking lot, restrooms, and other facilities for visitors. You can cross Meganebashi Bridge, but it's quite steep. It's quite picturesque.
It's nice, but it's located in front of a house in a very residential area, so when you go to see it, the residents give you strange looks like, "What are these guys?" The road leading off the national highway is narrow, and it's far from the city of Obama.
I went there in January 2023.
I never expected to find such a magnificent bridge hidden amongst the houses!
It's a stone bridge with quite a steep angle.
It's helpful that there are toilets and parking nearby.
