Amazing morning spent in the Gion district
We loved our guide Kenta and his tour of the Gion district in Kyoto. We learned so much about the history of the Geiko and Geisha in Kyoto. We absolutely loved our lunch and the experience of meeting the Geiko. Truly an experience we will never forget. We highly recommend this tour!
Excellent way to experience Geisha culture
I highly recommend this tour for those interested in Japanese Geisha. Our tour guide, Akari, was polite, informative, and entertaining. The performance by the Maiko was short (two songs/dances, as advertised in the tour booking), but there was plenty of time for a Q&A and photos with the Maiko, with our guide acting as translator. Both the dinner (consisting of traditional Japanese fare) and the Maiko performance took place in a small, intimate space. This tour has little appeal for those uninterested in Geisha, but for those wishing to learn about and experience Geisha culture directly it is excellent and highly recommended.
