Mobility Resort Motegi

Mobility Resort Motegi is Japan's premier motorsports and outdoor adventure complex located in Motegi, Tochigi Prefecture, approximately 120 kilometers northeast of Tokyo. Originally opened in 1997 as Twin Ring Motegi, the facility was developed by Honda Motor Company as a showcase for automotive technology and motorsport culture. The venue underwent a major transformation in 2022, rebranding to its current name to reflect an expanded focus beyond racing to include diverse mobility experiences and nature-based activities.

The resort centers around its world-class racing circuit, which has hosted prestigious events including MotoGP motorcycle races since 1999 and various Formula racing championships. The track features a unique 4.8-kilometer road course with challenging elevation changes and technical corners that have made it a favorite among professional riders and drivers. Beyond motorsports, the facility has evolved into a multifaceted destination where visitors can experience Honda's vision of mobility through interactive exhibits, driving experiences, and outdoor adventures across its expansive 640-hectare grounds.

Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities suited for all ages and interests. The Honda Collection Hall displays an extensive archive of Honda vehicles and racing machines spanning the company's history, while the Mobility Park offers hands-on experiences including go-karting, circuit driving programs, and rides on Honda motorcycles and ATVs.

Families appreciate the adventure parks featuring zip lines, climbing walls, and forest trails, along with camping facilities and glamping accommodations set within the surrounding woodlands. The resort also includes restaurants serving local Tochigi cuisine and shops offering motorsport memorabilia.

Access from Tokyo typically takes two to two and a half hours by car via the Joban Expressway, or visitors can take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen to Utsunomiya Station followed by a 40-minute bus ride to the resort. Admission fees vary by activity, with basic entry to the circuit area and Honda Collection Hall starting around ¥1,000 for adults, while driving experiences and adventure activities require separate tickets ranging from ¥2,000 to ¥10,000 depending on the program.
