Yokohama Stadium

Yokohama Stadium stands as one of Japan's most iconic baseball venues, located in the heart of Yokohama's Kannai district within Yokohama Park. Opened in 1978, the stadium was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Yokohama Park and has since become the home ground of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, one of Nippon Professional Baseball's Central League teams. The facility underwent major renovations completed in 2020, which expanded its seating capacity to approximately 34,046 spectators, making it one of the larger baseball stadiums in Japan.

The stadium holds significant cultural importance as a venue that has hosted not only baseball games but also major concerts and events over its decades of operation. Beyond professional baseball, Yokohama Stadium gained international recognition when it served as a venue for baseball and softball competitions during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (held in 2021). The stadium's location within Yokohama Park, established in 1876 as Japan's first Western-style park, adds historical depth to any visit, as the surrounding grounds feature seasonal flowers and open green spaces popular with locals.

The nearest station is Kannai Station, served by the JR Negishi Line and Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line, both requiring approximately a 2-3 minute walk to the stadium. Yokohama Stadium Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line provides even closer access. Alternatively, Sakuragicho Station on the JR Negishi Line is about a 12-minute walk away.
