Kosugiyu is a historic public bathhouse located in Tokyo's Koenji neighborhood, representing one of the city's few remaining traditional sento. Built in 1933, this nearly century-old establishment has survived both the devastation of World War II and the steady modernization that has seen most public bathhouses disappear from Japanese urban landscapes. Foreign visitors are welcome but should familiarize themselves with proper sento etiquette, including the prohibition of tattoos in many traditional bathhouses and the requirement to bathe completely nude in gender-separated areas.

Kosugiyu is located in Koenji, accessible via the JR Chuo Line to Koenji Station, approximately 10 minutes west of Shinjuku. The bathhouse is a short walk from the station through the neighborhood's residential streets. Standard admission costs around ¥500-700 for adults, with soap and towel rental available for an additional fee. Visitors should bring their own toiletries if preferred, though basic items can be purchased on-site.
