Mt.T by Hoshino Resorts is a premium mountain ski resort located on Mt. Tanigawa in Gunma Prefecture, previously known as Tanigawadake Tenjindaira Ski Resort. As one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, Mt. Tanigawa sits on the border between Gunma and Niigata prefectures and has earned recognition for its dramatic alpine terrain and exceptional winter conditions despite its summit standing below 2,000 meters elevation.

The resort reaches an altitude of 1,319 meters at its base, accessed via a scenic ropeway system. Mt.T encompasses 50 hectares of terrain with 9 lifts and covers a 750-meter vertical range. What distinguishes this destination is its commitment to high-quality natural snow with no artificial snowmaking machines. The resort's position within the harsh mountainous Tanigawa Range creates optimal conditions for abundant powder snow of exceptional quality throughout the season, which typically runs from late December to mid-April.

While Mt.T serves beginners and intermediate skiers with accessible terrain, it has gained international recognition as a destination for advanced skiers and backcountry enthusiasts. The resort offers world-class backcountry skiing opportunities with trees, chutes, and bowls filled with deep powder snow. A dedicated gate at the summit provides access to extensive backcountry terrain extending from the main peak. The resort emphasizes safety for backcountry activities, requiring appropriate equipment and recommending professional guides. In 2025, Mt.T officially joined the prestigious Ikon Pass, the world's premier ski season pass, marking its arrival on the global ski circuit.

Beyond skiing, visitors can experience the mountain's natural beauty year-round through the adjacent Tanigawadake Joch facility, which operates the ropeway system for sightseeing, hiking, and seasonal activities. The region is also celebrated for its hot springs, with 18 hot spring facilities scattered throughout Minakami around the Tanigawadake area, including Yubiso Onsen, Unose Onsen, and Minakami Onsen.

Mt.T is conveniently accessible from Tokyo, making it ideal for both day trips and extended stays. From Tokyo Station, the journey takes approximately 2 hours via bullet train and bus. Take the Joetsu Shinkansen from Tokyo Station for about 1 hour and 20 minutes to either Jomo-Kogen Station or Minakami Station, followed by a 50-minute bus ride from Jomo-Kogen Station or 25 minutes from Minakami Station to the Tanigawadake Ropeway stop. The resort offers parking with floors 1-5 free and the 6th floor costing ¥1,000. Day ticket pricing varies by season.
