Strawberry Picking and Mochi Dessert Experience in Asuka

Spend a lovely day in Asuka Village enjoying the fresh taste of strawberries. Visit Asuka Engei, a local farm known for growing rare and sweet types of strawberries like Kotoka and Nara Akari. These special berries are picked when they are perfectly ripe, giving you the chance to enjoy them fresh from the plant. You’ll learn how to find the best ones and taste them right in the field.

After picking your strawberries, you’ll get to make a tasty Japanese dessert called strawberry Daifuku. This treat is made with soft mochi wrapped around a fresh strawberry. It’s fun to make and even more fun to eat. Whether you enjoy your dessert right away or bring it home, this relaxing and delicious experience is sure to leave you smiling.

Begin your morning at 8:00 AM with a warm welcome from the farmers at Asuka Engei. You'll get an introduction to the world of premium strawberries, including fun facts about the rare Kotoka and Nara Akari varieties. Learn what makes these fruits so special and how to pick them at their sweetest.

• Duration: 20 minutes

Strawberry Picking Experience

From 8:20 AM, enjoy hands-on picking in the strawberry fields. With guidance from the growers, you’ll harvest perfectly ripe strawberries directly from the plant. Savor the freshness as you go, and feel free to snap some photos along the way.

• Duration: 30 minutes

Strawberry Daifuku Workshop

At 9:00 AM, move to a cozy indoor space for a fun and interactive Daifuku-making session. Using the strawberries you picked, you’ll create this soft mochi dessert filled with sweet bean paste and fruit. No experience needed—just follow the steps and enjoy the process.

• Duration: 1 hour

Wrapping, Tasting, and Closing

From 10:00 AM, you’ll taste your handmade treats and wrap up anything you'd like to take home. There’s time to relax, chat with others, or ask more about the farm. Guests begin leaving around 11:00 AM at their own pace.
