Amazing, Breathtaking view. From the Yoshino station going to the top of Takagiyama Observatory. It was breathtaking to watch how beautiful the scenery was from the overview deck. It offers a scenic view of cherry blossoms, distant towns, and the mountain. The best place to view cherry blossom.
Might come again in the fall.

Cherry blossom not really full bloom yet
Took two hours from osaka. There are local train no need to reserved and limited express with reserved seat which need to do advance reservation.
The best cherry blossom experience of my Japan visit. The beautiful hike up to the Kimpu Jinja temple felt like a proper pilgrimage. Lots of small local business selling food along the way, a beautiful day trip from Osaka.

After vising around we knew that the white-pinkish variant was in full bloom. So it was amazing! People say "not pink" it wasn't meant to be because the pink/red variants only get full bloom mid/end April.
So I loved! It wasn't sunny... That is the sad part but we really count make it work on sunny days. So if you can go with sun! The rain however gave it some character I guess. If you are around Nara/Ozaka just go! In 2 weeks the white ones will be on the ground and the reddish ones will be in full bloom so if you can go then - that will be the perfect time.
"An absolutely breathtaking experience. Seeing the thousands of cherry trees covering the mountainside is something you have to see at least once in your life. We started at the lower area and worked our way up to the Hanagura Lookout for the best views. It’s a lot of walking and steep slopes, so wear comfortable shoes! The atmosphere with the food stalls and ancient temples like Kinpusen-ji makes it feel truly spiritual and historic."
