Our driver Hikaru Inoue was fantastic. You can tell that he knows what he's doing and is very skilled! They allowed us to customize our route before we started and we ended up extending our session day of, and it ended up being one of my favorite things we did on our trip and worth it in so many ways. We were given time to check out shrines and have tea and sakura mochi that were delicious. This was the perfect way to experience the area around Arashiyama and take it in. You could feel the wind so nicely when we were returning and running down the hill. I could feel the envy of the other travelers we passed it made sight seeing much easier after some days in the city on our feet so much.

The bamboo forest and autumn colors are very satisfying
The bamboo forest was so beautiful! It was also a great time to see the autumn colors in Dompisha (2024.12) and the weather was very nice!
Not only in the bamboo grove, but also along the riverside with Togetsu-kyo Bridge in the background and in front of the nearby autumn colors, the guruma man took photos very comfortably.
Both in their 60s, travelling with friends has become as enjoyable as when we were young!

Best way to see Arashiyama
