荘厳な門や堀を眺めながら天守閣まで歩きましたが、ゆっくり登ってもそれほど時間はかからず良い散歩コースになります。大きな門構えや城内にそびえる大木には、積み重ねられた長い歴史を感じて圧倒されました。
城内には展示館や忍者館があるほか、お土産屋さんも充実していて見どころが多いです。天守閣前の広場では、小田原名物のアジを使った食べ物や団子などの食べ歩きも楽しめます。歴史に触れながら美味しいものも味わえる、とても満足度の高いスポットでした。

The walk from the grand gates and moats up to the castle tower is pleasant and doesn't take too long, even at a slow pace. The massive gate structures and the ancient trees within the grounds really make you feel the passage of time.
There are plenty of attractions, including an exhibition hall, a ninja museum, and souvenir shops. In the square in front of the castle tower, you can enjoy local specialties like horse mackerel (aji) snacks and dango. It’s a great place where you can experience history while enjoying some delicious local food.
