Handkerchief Plant Dyeing Workshop in Kagoshima

Take part in a unique workshop in Kagoshima where you’ll make a bright yellow handkerchief using dye from the Fukugi tree. This tree, often called the “tree of happiness,” grows along the southern coast and has been cherished for generations. In this activity, you’ll discover how its natural color can be used to dye fabric in a calm and friendly setting.

The workshop is simple and fun, perfect even if it's your first time trying fabric dyeing. You’ll get helpful support along the way and enjoy the process of creating something special with your own hands. In the end, you’ll leave with a handmade handkerchief and a meaningful memory of your time in Japan.
