Chiba City Museum of Science

The Chiba City Museum of Science occupies the 7th through 10th floors of the Qiball building in central Chiba City. This interactive science museum serves as an educational facility designed to make scientific concepts accessible through hands-on exploration and experiential learning. The institution combines traditional exhibition spaces with modern technology, including a hybrid planetarium featuring over 100 million stars projected onto a 23-meter domed screen.

The museum's significance lies in its comprehensive approach to science education across multiple disciplines. Exhibition areas are divided into three main sections: Geo Town, focused on Earth's environment and space; Techno Town, exploring science and technology in daily life; and Wonder Town, demonstrating the principles of sound, light, and mathematics. The Techno Town section features notable exhibits including a life-size model of the Shinkai 6500 submersible and the deep-sea exploration vehicle Edokko No.1, showcasing Japan's contributions to ocean exploration technology.
