Road Station Kirishima Mythical Village Park serves as both a highway rest stop and cultural attraction in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, offering visitors insight into local mythology and traditions. The facility opened in 1998 as part of Japan's nationwide "Michi no Eki" (Road Station) network, combining practical traveler services with cultural exhibitions focused on the legendary origins of Japan connected to the nearby Mount Kirishima.

The park takes its mythical theme from the ancient Japanese creation story of Ninigi-no-Mikoto, the grandson of sun goddess Amaterasu, who according to Shinto mythology descended to earth at Mount Kirishima to establish Japan's imperial lineage. This legendary connection makes the area one of Japan's most spiritually significant locations, referenced in both the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, Japan's oldest historical chronicles from the 8th century.

The main exhibition hall features displays explaining the region's mythological heritage through artifacts, illustrated panels, and interactive presentations about the gods and legends associated with Kirishima. Visitors can explore the Observation Tower, standing 20 meters tall, which provides panoramic views of the Kirishima mountain range and on clear days, Sakurajima volcano across Kagoshima Bay. The facility includes a local products marketplace selling Kirishima's famous shochu spirits, sweet potatoes, and traditional crafts, plus a restaurant specializing in regional cuisine including black pork dishes and locally grown vegetables.

The park is located along National Route 223, approximately 20 minutes by car from Kirishima Jingu Station on the JR Nippo Line. From Kagoshima Airport, the drive takes about 30 minutes. Limited bus service operates from Kirishima Jingu Station, with 3-4 daily departures. Admission to the main grounds and parking is free, though the observation tower requires a fee of ¥300 for adults and ¥150 for children. The cultural exhibition hall charges ¥500 for adults and ¥250 for students.
