What other travelers are saying about A Happy Pancake
I absolutely loved the pancakes at A Happy Pancake. We initially got lost and couldn't find which building the pancake was located in, we then found out it's located in this building next to Ginza Global Style. Don't confuse the queue next door for Noa Cafe.
We arrived around 9:30am and there was a sign which gives you instructions of how to make a reservation, this involved scanning the QR code and around 9:40am the website was open for reservations and we made our reservations. You will be notified when it is your turn.
The soufflé pancakes were deliciously fluffy and not too sweet. I didn't think the soufflé pancakes tasted too eggy. My favourite was the hot chocolate soufflé pancakes, I probably would've tried the tiramisu version if I liked coffee.
I would've gone back again during my trip if I had time.
A Happy Pancake is famous for its incredibly fluffy, souffle-style pancakes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pancakes are soft, airy, and served with a variety of toppings such as honey butter, fresh cream, and seasonal fruits.
Reservations are not required but are highly recommended, especially on weekends or during peak meal times, as the cafe is very popular and wait times can be long.
The menu includes a range of sweet and savory pancake options. Popular choices include the classic pancake with honey butter and whipped cream, chocolate banana pancakes, and savory pancakes like the avocado and salmon option.
The price for pancakes ranges from around ¥1,100 to ¥2,000, depending on the toppings and type of pancake. Drinks are typically priced between ¥400 and ¥600.
We waited around 30 minutes in order to get a table. The pancakes are good, but nothing special. They are very fluffy and very light weighted. We added vanilla ice cream in our order and it made such a difference taste wise. The only negative would be that we felt a strong taste of egg in the aftertaste.
I went on a tuesday and arrived about at 10:00am (30min before it opens). I’m glad I arrived earlier because I wasn’t aware and no one tells you it’s an online line so we signed up and there were already 5 tables upon us. Around at 10:35am we received an email indicating our table was ready. It’s inside a building and located on the seventh floor. We ordered by the QR code and considering the popularity of this restaurant, it was pretty quick (keep in mind we arrived earlier). The food was pretty good.
When we left we noticed a long line of people (15?) outside the restaurant.
A Happy Pancake is my go-to souffle pancake spot whenever I’m in Tokyo. This time however, we ended up waiting (in virtual line) for over an hour on a weekday. It’s a pretty darn long wait but once you’re seated and those oh so fluffy pancakes arrive and you bit into them – yeah it makes the long wait worthwhile.
Coffee’s not great though but the pancakes are definitely the MVP.
Be prepared for the long wait (virtual or not).
Luckily, we came at the right moment to scan QR to get seats. We were only 1 table away and located at 7th floor, we got ourselves a great side table spot and ordered few fluffy plates of pancakes including the roll cake.
Cute decors and we loved the tiramisu one. If you love egginess and fluffy pancakes, then this place is for you!
