What other travelers are saying about Sky Circus Sunshine 60 Observatory
It’s a great place to get views of the sprawling cityscape of Tokyo. We went on a weekday just before nightfall and there wasn’t any queue and it wasn’t terribly expensive. All the windows on the floor are available to look out from, there isn’t any obstacle, there were a lot of places to view the skyline. There’s a cafe, benches you can rest and a lounge area with faux grass that you can lie down on. If you’re lucky, there might even be a theme event, the time we visited Oct ‘25, there was a Demon Slayer collab event.
The observatory opens daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with last admission at 8:00 PM. Operating hours remain consistent throughout the week, making it convenient for both weekday and weekend visits. However, the observatory's operating hours may occasionally change depending on weather conditions on the date of your visit, so checking the official website before your trip is recommended.
SKY CIRCUS Sunshine 60 Observatory is easily accessible via JR Ikebukuro Station (East Exit, 8-minute walk), Tokyo Metro Higashi-Ikebukuro Station (Exit 6/7, 3-minute walk), or JR Otsuka Station (6-minute walk). The observatory is located in Sunshine City complex in Ikebukuro. Take the Sky Circus-dedicated elevator from the Sunshine 60 building's B1 floor directly to the 60th floor observation deck.
From 251 meters above sea level, the 360-degree panoramic views allow you to see Mount Fuji, Mount Tsukuba, the Nikko mountain range, Tokyo Skytree, and the Shinjuku skyscraper district on clear days. The south side offers views of the Shinjuku skyscraper district, while the east side showcases Tokyo Skytree. Additional landmarks visible include Tokyo Tower, Roppongi Hills, and during optimal conditions, even Tokyo Disneyland and the Izu Peninsula.
SKY CIRCUS Sunshine 60 Observatory offers unique interactive entertainment and digital art experiences that Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Tower don't provide. While shorter than other Tokyo observation decks, SKY CIRCUS features innovative VR attractions, augmented reality installations, and immersive experiences. The observatory provides excellent Tokyo city views, shorter wait times, and lower admission prices compared to more crowded tourist attractions like Tokyo Skytree.
Yes, you can purchase SKY CIRCUS Sunshine 60 Observatory tickets online through official websites, Klook, GetYourGuide, and other travel booking platforms. Online advance booking often offers discounted prices and skip-the-line entry. Same-day tickets are also available at the observatory entrance, but advance online booking is recommended during peak seasons, weekends, and holidays to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment.
It's raining but I went anyway. The view is wonderful, even with fog. It would probably be good at night.
It seems like a lot of small children go here so it's not very peaceful. It was loud. The cafe is okay.
This observatory is inside sunshine city.
Bought the ticket on the spot, check online and found it might be cheaper if you bought from some platform.
Suggest to go on evening and you can view the sunset as well as night view.
We also enjoy the water on glass music performance.
It's worth the price because the view is beautiful and it's not crowded. If you want truly unobstructed panoramic views for photography, I recommend this building. It's quite worthwhile
Exceptionally clean and a good spot to enjoy the Tokyo prefecture.
3,98€ (adult fee) per entry if you buy the tickets on spot. I went there last minute and bought the ticket on Klook for 4.19€, just a slight difference.
