Jimokuji Kannon

Jimokuji Kannon, located in Ama City, Aichi Prefecture, is a historical and spiritual marvel. Founded in 597 during Empress Suiko's reign, this temple began when a fisherman discovered a golden statue of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy, in his net.

Over the centuries, it became one of the four revered Kannon temples of the Owari region. The temple, recognized as a Chokuganji temple after aiding Emperor Tenchi's recovery, boasts significant cultural properties.

Visitors can explore the beautiful southern and eastern gates, and a magnificent three-storied pagoda designated Important Cultural Properties. The temple is also home to the healing deity Binzuru-sama, believed to cure illnesses.
