If you're interested in a older Japanese style hotel with an onsen inside this is a good one. I'm a big fan of ryokans and onsen hotels but this website doesn't show most of them. Just take a look around this hotels area for beautiful onsen hotels and ryokans. This is great for days 1, 2, 3, and 4.
If you don't mind an older style hotel this one provides great value. Near the biggest station in Yamanashi and can easily access the different wineries by train. Doesn't have to be this hotel, many ryokans and onsen hotels aren't on this website but their live agents can look into any particular ones you are interested in for you. But a hotel near Kofu station will give you easy access to different wineries in the area. Perfect for days 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Beautiful view of Mt.Fuji from this hotel and the price is really affordable for the location. Perfect for day 5-6-7
Luxury hotel, stunning decor and view overlooking Mt.Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
Another option in Kofu. Beautiful view from the onsen. If you have the budget and really want a beautiful onsen hotel this is your best bet.

Isawa Onsen, Yamanashi, Japan
This isn't a single place but this town is famous for onsens. Most hotels and ryokans will have their own private onsens inside. Outside in public will be hand and feet mini onsens.

The Winery on the Hill
Venture to higher elevations and a great view of the area. Tomi no Oka tasting terrace is great during spring and summer when the sun is out.

I walked here from the station and it was a bit of a hike. There's a winery tour bus or city bus or a taxi. It's a nice view from the top though. Wine is a little more expensive here but beautiful grounds.

Fuji Village with some Wasabi
This little town is famous for photographers to stop by and take some photos of Mt.Fuji. It's got some nice izakayas so you can take a break from the wine and try some sake. (I'm not an alcoholic I promise)

2790 Natsugari, Tsuru, Yamanashi 402-0035, Japan
Optional. It's a little out of the way but a nice local place to try Wasabi. Will need to make a reservation.

Explore a unique old Japanese village and make your way to Fujikawaguchiko. This little village is full of nice small ryokans, hotels, onsens and museums. There's nice viewpoints along the route to the town.

Japan, 〒401-0332 Yamanashi, Minamitsuru District, Fujikawaguchiko, Saiko, 根場 2710
Optional, little bit out of the way but its a nice old style Japanese village with the triangle shaped houses. Nice break away from the city and into the countryside.

The Grand Wine Finale
There's a fancy winery here called 7c. After day drinking you can enjoy some of the museums here. My two favorites are the Yamanashi Gem Museum and Kubota Itchiku Museum.

6713 Funatsu, Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi 401-0301, Japan
Yamanashi is also a mining area and gem hotspot. So the gem museum is naturally a good place to see. You could spend 15 minutes or 3 hours there. So it's really about your interest in rare minerals.

1163-1 Azagawa, Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi 401-0303, Japan
If the weather is good this is worth it, if not then skip it.

Beautiful kimonos and unique architecture, with a great view of Mt. Fuji from the café. It takes about an hour to explore. The museum is small but very peaceful.

770-7 Kawaguchi, Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi 401-0304, Japan
More houtou noodles because they're delicious. This place has a curry version that was really good!
Yamanashi is Japan's wine capital, best navigated using JR train lines, the local Katsunuma Wine Bus, and short taxi rides so you can sip freely without driving. Japan has a strict drinking and driving law. After drinking any amount of alcohol you can't drive (or even ride a bike!), so trains, winery tour buses and taxis are the best way to navigate this area. I always love the Houtou noodles and rolling hills of the area. Kofu is famous for pink grapes, so, if you go, be sure to look for those. Ryokans (traditional Japanese inns) are the best ways to rest on this trip and the majority of the ryokans in this area have private onsen inside. This site doesn't have many ryokans to offer, but click on "Chat with a live agent" and they'll aim to help you find and book one.
