Trip To Japan is an online travel agency operated by Takanawa Travel K.K. We facilitate the arrangement of travel services provided by third-party suppliers throughout Japan. We act as an intermediary; the actual services are delivered by the respective suppliers.
Services Include:
Tours and activities
Attraction and transportation tickets (including rail tickets, if selected)
Hotel and accommodation reservations
Private or shared transfers
Tailored multi-service travel packages
Travel insurance offered through third parties
Prices for all services are displayed on the respective product pages or within the Trip Planner tool. Unless otherwise stated, prices are shown in Japanese Yen (JPY). Prices are dynamic and may vary based on date, availability, and supplier rules. If a component price cannot be determined immediately in advance via the automated system, we provide a clear indication of how the final price will be calculated.
Shipping Fees: No shipping fees apply, as services and vouchers are delivered electronically.
Local Charges: The traveler is responsible for any mandatory local charges payable on-site, such as city taxes collected at hotels, resort fees, or venue surcharges, where applicable.
Transaction Fees: Any currency conversion fees or foreign transaction fees applied by the customer’s bank or card issuer are borne by the customer.
Additional Fees: Any additional administrative fees charged by us will be clearly itemized with the amount displayed prior to purchase.
We accept major credit and debit cards via our payment processor, Stripe. Accepted card types are displayed during the checkout process. Trip To Japan systems do not store full card numbers.
The timing of payment depends on the type of booking:
Single Items (Tours, Tickets, Transfers, or Hotel-only):
Payment is typically due in full at the time of booking, subject to the supplier’s rules displayed before checkout.
Packages (Combining two or more services):
Payment follows the schedule below:
Deposit: 20% of the total package price at the time of booking.
Second Installment: 40% due 90 calendar days before the package start date.
Final Installment: 40% due 30 calendar days before the package start date.
Late Bookings:
Bookings made 31–89 days before start: 60% due at booking; 40% due 30 days before start.
Bookings made 30 days or fewer before start: 100% due at booking.
By completing checkout, you authorize Trip To Japan to charge the saved payment method for each due installment automatically.
Order acceptance is confirmed by email immediately following a successful booking. Electronic confirmations, tickets, or vouchers are issued to the customer’s registered email address or account after payment is received, according to the terms of the product. For packages, final documents are issued before the service start date, contingent upon receipt of full payment.
Single Items: The cancellation and change policy of the specific supplier applies. This policy is shown on the product page, the final confirmation screen, and in your confirmation email.
Packages: Trip To Japan’s package policy applies, including the payment schedule and any stated cancellation fees or non-refundable components (as detailed in our general Terms and Conditions). Policies are clearly displayed before purchase and on the final confirmation screen.
Note on Cooling-Off Periods: Please note that there is no statutory cooling-off right for these types of mail-order travel services under Japanese law. We display all applicable cancellation terms clearly at the time of booking; please review these terms carefully before confirming your purchase.
We primarily sell services. In cases where a tangible good is included (e.g., physical rail passes), returns or exchanges are handled according to the specific policy shown for that item. If returns are not accepted for non-defective goods, this will be clearly stated.
All sales are subject to availability. Supplier rules, such as age limits, identity verification requirements, health requirements, and specific check-in procedures, apply. Any components that are non-refundable or subject to special terms are clearly flagged before payment.
For inquiries or complaints, please contact us using the telephone or email details provided in Section 1. We respond during our posted business hours (Japan Standard Time).
These disclosures are made in accordance with the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions of Japan. Any disputes will be governed by our Terms and Conditions and Japanese law.
