You can think of all Kumamoto shopping as taking place either here or near Kumamoto Station. There is a large supermarket in the basement here. There are lots of good-value sushi and bento boxes, so on a tiring day, you can buy them here and enjoy them at your accommodation.

This place always has a wait. Even though we went after lunch, I think we waited for over 30 minutes. Compared with Jeju Yeondon, both are so delicious that it's impossible to decide which is better. If you choose the children's menu, they also give small gifts that kids like.

The location is amazing. It's inside the arcade street. The prices are affordable, making it perfect for two people. There are restaurants galore nearby.

It's not that big. Small restaurants and shopping streets are gathered here. It's worth stopping by once.

To get to Yushima, you have to take a small boat like a fishing boat from here. Only cash payments are accepted, and there are boats only 4 times a day, so make sure to check the schedule carefully before you go.

There are more cats than island residents, so it is known as Cat Island! Since it is a small island, you can walk around the entire island in 30~40 minutes. The island children are extremely polite. Highly recommended if you like cats. Even though it has been a long time since we went, whenever I mention Cat Island, my child remembers it right away.

Mount Aso, Takawara, Aso, Kumamoto 869-2223, Japan
Depending on the weather, the volcanic crater may or may not be open. It all depends on your weather luck, so it’s hit or miss. The site said it was closed, but we waited for 30 minutes, and then it suddenly opened because they said the weather had improved.

It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to walk from the crater to here along the mountain trail. Be sure to take the bus ㅎㅎ It feels a bit like Jeju Island. Horse meat is a delicacy.

A perfect(?) travel itinerary for a trip to Kumamoto, a small Japanese city, taken without Mom. I’ve been to Japan’s famous cities—Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and so on—so many times that I now mostly travel to smaller cities. Since there aren’t many tourists, it’s very peaceful to travel around, and because it’s Kumamon’s city, you can see Kumamon all over the city. My child loved it so much—awesome~ When traveling with a child, unexpected variables always arise. This is a 3-night Kumamoto itinerary that both the child and Dad were happy with. I think it would be helpful to refer to this when planning your itinerary. The volcano may be closed depending on the weather. (It’s a matter of luck ㅠ) I went twice and couldn’t enter once~ haha
