Day 2

Exploring Shibuya + A Must-Do Food Tour

Take your time exploring one of Tokyo’s most iconic neighborhoods. We loved slowing down in Shibuya—walking through the busy streets, popping into shops, and just soaking in the energy without feeling rushed. One of our favorite parts of the day was joining a local food tour, which made the experience feel so much more immersive and memorable. Definitely check out the specific tour below—it’s such a fun way to discover hidden spots and try amazing food you wouldn’t find on your own.

For dinner, we joined a food tour and it turned out to be such an incredible experience—it was absolutely worth it. We got to try a wide range of Japanese dishes, from fresh sushi to high-quality wagyu, while also learning about the culture and stories behind each bite. What made it even more special was how accommodating they were—since Pri was pregnant, they thoughtfully offered alternatives to raw sushi, and while we skipped the alcohol, there were still plenty of delicious drink options to enjoy. It was the perfect mix of great food, culture, and convenience, and it honestly made us want to do more food tours in the future.

Day 3

A Day Trip to Yokohama + Local Food Finds

Take a break from Tokyo and explore Yokohama, a nearby harbor city that feels a little more relaxed and spacious. We loved how easy it was to wander here—walking along the waterfront, exploring different neighborhoods, and taking in a slower pace compared to the city. One of the highlights was discovering local food spots along the way, which made the experience feel even more memorable. Definitely check out the recommended stops below to make the most of your day.

Day 4

Kawagoe “Little Edo” - A Gentle Cultural Day

Take a short trip outside of Tokyo and step into Kawagoe, known as “Little Edo” for its preserved historic streets. This is the perfect slow day—easy strolling, traditional architecture, and a relaxed pace that lets you soak everything in without feeling rushed. One of the highlights is Candy Alley, where you can try nostalgic Japanese treats and explore charming local shops. It’s a simple, peaceful way to experience a different side of Japan while still staying close to the city.

Day 5

Kamakura — A Relaxed Day Trip from Tokyo

Kamakura felt like the perfect little escape from the city. Between the temples, ocean views, and slower pace, it’s such a peaceful place to explore. We decided to book a day tour this time, and honestly, it made everything so much easier—no navigating trains, no stressing about timing, just enjoying the day. Especially during pregnancy, this made a huge difference. If you’re thinking about going, we highly recommend checking out the tour we did below.

Mount Fuji Made Easy: A Relaxed Day Trip Without the Stress

Visiting Mount Fuji had always been on our list, but instead of navigating trains, transfers, and timing everything ourselves, we decided to experience it through a guided tour - and it completely changed the pace of our trip for the better.

Check out the video I made: instagram.com/p/DQ5L0v6EsQU This tour was truly amazing from start to finish. Finding the bus was easy and convenient, and our Japanese guide was incredibly informative, sharing so much insight along the way. One of the highlights was the traditional Japanese lunch, we ate food I've never tried before!. The tour took us to multiple scenic viewpoints of Mt. Fuji, giving us plenty of opportunities to take it all in. We had originally considered doing it on our own by train so we could move at our own pace, but this tour ended up being the perfect balance of structure and flexibility. Even the hike at the end was very doable, Pri was five months pregnant at the time and handled it comfortably. Seeing Mt. Fuji so clearly that day truly felt like a dream come true, and we walked away having learned so much from the experience.

Day 7

Asakusa - Tokyo's Traditional side

We had a ton of time before our flight so we decided to spend the day exploring Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most iconic and cultural neighborhoods. From the historic streets leading up to Sensō-ji Temple to the local shops and street food along the way, this area is full of charm and tradition. We loved taking this day slow—walking, trying different snacks, and soaking in the atmosphere without rushing. It’s a great way to experience a more traditional side of Tokyo while still staying right in the city before heading to the airport!
