Takao for an easy and beautiful hike.
Warm up an hour from Shinjuku. Takao (599 m) has trails for every mood — cable car halfway or walk it all in about 90 minutes. Temple on the way up, Fuji from the top on a clear day, soba at the summit, onsen by the station. Easy · 2–3 hrs · ~50 min from Shinjuku on the Keio Line.
After hiking up and down the moutain, stop by this amazing new sento (open bath house) for a relaxing dip. With indoor and outdoor baths separated by gender, as well as a sauna room, it's the perfect place to relax. They also serve craft beer and some pretty tasty food, so dinner's also sorted!
