This is one of those rare places that still feels completely authentic. Located just outside Tsuruhashi Station, this maze of covered alleys is packed with tiny restaurants, kimchi shops, seafood vendors & old-school market stalls that seem unchanged for decades.
It’s not polished or designed for tourists...which is exactly why it’s worth visiting. The area is Osaka’s historic Koreatown, so the food leans heavily Korean: incredible kimchi, grilled meats, street snacks & small specialty shops that focus on doing one thing extremely well.
Expect narrow passages, handwritten signs, sizzling grills, and the feeling that you’ve discovered something locals would prefer to keep quiet.
If Dotonbori is the show, this place is the kitchen. Come hungry and give yourself time to wander.
