Meet your guide in front of the Myomu circular white stone structure near the South Exit of JR Sapporo Station. Exit the main JR gates, turn left, and walk toward the South Exits. Your guide will be wearing a Snow Monkey Resorts tour tag.

Begin the guided walk along the Otaru Canal, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023. Brick and stone warehouses line the canal, built during the Meiji and Taisho periods when Otaru served as a major trading hub for Hokkaido.

Free time for lunch along Sakaimachi Street, an 800-meter preserved merchant street lined with late 19th and early 20th century Western-style buildings. Your guide will suggest local restaurants serving fresh seafood and noodle dishes. Lunch is not included in the tour price.

Resume the guided walk along Sakaimachi Street, visiting the Kitaichi Glass Factory, the Otaru Music Box Museum, and the Steam Clock. Kitaichi Glass has operated since 1901 and occupies multiple stone warehouse buildings along the street — Building 3 is the most popular. The Music Box Museum is housed in a building over 100 years old and displays a large collection of music boxes, including rare antiques and an Aeolian pipe organ.
Reunite with your guide and walk to the German Beer Brewery, located in a historic warehouse directly on the Otaru Canal. The brewery produces German-style beers on-site and serves them in a wooden beer hall setting with visible copper brewing tanks.

Arrive back at the original meeting point at Sapporo Station, where the tour concludes.

Yes, non-alcoholic drinks are available at the German Beer Brewery. The included drink can be substituted with a non-alcoholic option. Guests must be 20 years of age or older to consume alcohol.
Lunch is not included. One hour is provided on Sakaimachi Street for lunch. Your guide will suggest local restaurants covering fresh seafood and noodle dishes on request.
Optional activities available for an additional fee include glassware making at the Kitaichi Glass Hanazono Shop and music box crafting at the Music Box Museum Handicraft Studio. These are available during the free time portion of the Sakaimachi Street visit.
If any part of the itinerary cannot proceed as scheduled, the tour operator will arrange a suitable alternative and inform guests as early as possible.

Awsome town with a country feel.unbelievable shopping and history.Our guide Scott was full of local knowledge of japan.It was a great day out with a mate! Could not recommend it enough. Small group tours are so much better. Our best japan tour!
