We had an unforgettable evening tour of Kyoto’s Gion district with Edo.
Edo’s knowledge of Kyoto, its history, and Japanese traditions was outstanding. The highlight of the evening was learning about the fascinating geisha culture. Edo shared the history, customs, and traditions with so much enthusiasm that Gion truly came to life. His storytelling made us see the district in a completely different way.

Highly recommend!
Azu was a very friendly and patient guide who led us through streets we never would have discovered by ourselves. He's a Japanese local and could provide information on Kyoto that went even further than just the Geisha culture. As English isn't our first language it took us a bit to get used to his English but after a few minutes that wasn't a problem anymore. We were lucky and got to see a real Geiko (Geisha) in one of the streets that Az led us through. At the end of the tour Azu gave a restaurant recommendation which was truly a hidden gem. The tour took 2 hours and covered many interesting and beautiful spots. It did require some walking uphill but it's absolutely manageable.
