What other travelers are saying about Fuji Shibazakura Festival
Even though I this visited this place, not doing their peak brewing season, but the view of the Fuji Mountain in the background is still spectacular. You can see many workers in the entire place, working hard to plant and maintain the flower bed. I know the view is artificial, but it’s still quite astonishing
Came here as part of a tour package. This is a garden that overlooks Mt Fuji. On a clear day, the views of Mt Fuji is fantastic. There are some shops here that sells souvenirs and also many different food stalls. Definitely worth a visit.
We visited this park in end May 2025. The striking pink flowers were mostly gone. As the weather for the day was cloudy, we could not see Mount Fuji. Probably a better timing to view the flowers are in April to early May.
There is a cafe, souvenir shop and some food outlets.
Despite the crowd, this place is very beautiful. A combination between mount Fuji view and shibazakura (moss phlox) that blooms in Japan between April-May. Many photo spots. Good facilities, live traditional music, food court, observation deck, lakes, peter rabbit English garden.
Was never part of my plan in the first place. I was unable to commit because of potential cloud cover weather. But checked the weather from the window of my hotel in the morning and rushed to Kawaguchiko station where they open the counter for Shiba Sakura festival tickets - bis transportation and entry tickets - at 8 am. So glad to come away fortunate to have seen this wonderland. The flashy pink flowers contrasting with Fuji in the background is breathtaking. Patience was the order of the day as I stood on the deck and the clouds hid Fuji for about an hour or so. But then the skies cleared and then I stood there gazing, awestruck. The gardens are beautiful, but when the boss stands towering at 3700+ m tall, everything else comes second. This festival is only from late April to most part of May, as that's when the flowers bloom. Be sure to plan accordingly.
