Komachi-dori Street

Sublocality Level 2SublocalityPolitical

Komachi-dori Street is a popular shopping street in Kamakura. It is about 350 meters long and leads to the famous Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. The street is full of small shops, cafes, and food stalls, selling everything from souvenirs to tasty snacks. People can find traditional Japanese sweets like matcha (green tea) treats and rice crackers, as well as handmade crafts and unique gifts.

The street is always busy, especially on weekends, with both tourists and locals enjoying the lively atmosphere. It has been an important part of Kamakura for a long time, as it was built along the path to the shrine. Some shops have been there for generations, keeping old traditions alive.

One of the best things about Komachi-dori is its street food. Visitors love trying fresh dango (sweet rice dumplings) and crispy shirasu (tiny fish) croquettes.
