I booked this more modern hotel because it was available on hotel booking app. I had a great stay there. The food and onsen were fantastic. There were both indoor and outdoor onsen which were gender segregated. I could eat yummy Akita local produce. While having my breakfast and dinner, I could enjoy the scenic view of the national park. There is a bus stop outside this hotel to bring me directly to the train station. Don't be daunt by the location as it is easy to get there. It is a memorable trip for me.
The whole purpose of coming to here is no other than the famous milky color water of the onsen. There is also spring water harvested from the mountain so you get 2 types of water in one place. The bath house has both indoor 2 pools and 1 outdoor pool. It’s really a joy to bath outdoor in the tranquil surrounding of the forest.
The road running to this onsen village is tricky especially we have to drive in dense fog but it was worth it.
The food spread is great for dinner and breakfast. I have to control how much to eat since I have gained 2kg in 10 days.
As this area is an onsen village you can buy a day pass for 2000yen and go visiting all the other 6 onsen hotels and soak till you turned a cooked lobster. There is a shuttle for this package so no worries about transportation.
The room is ok but a bit dated and old but altering a bath and sake you don’t really care right?
Oh. Forget about doing any trekking here. Full of forest flies. So just soak
At the front desk, male staff were not welcome , unlike nice female staff next to him.
Onsen were dated and full of black stain. The water is at right high temperature and good quality. The outdoor bath have no view.
There are fresh and tasty milk machine in front of The onsen.
This hotel offers day-use bath, cost 800 yen for adult and 400 yen for kids.
There are 2 indoor baths from different source of hot springs water, and one outdoor with clear sky or tree view.
The view is not fantastic, but the onsen water is at high temperature (above 41 degrees) and the experience is excellent.
The facilities are dated but clean, and offer great varieties of skincare products ( like exfoliation gel, facial wash etc).
In this hotel, they are selling dessert and ice cream. We tried the soft serve ice cream, it is very creamy and full with milk flavour.
There are amble free parking lots here; many seating places if you not going for onsen and decided to wait for them.
Highly recommend this place.
