What other travelers are saying about Mihama American Village
A funky, characteristic, and exotic village where both Japanese and American cultures are melt. There are lots of buildings with unique exteriors, so you'll find nice places to take pictures for sure. There are also a lot of bars and restaurants along the shoreline. If you visit this place in a clear day, the experiences will be unforgettable.
Awesome place full of restaurants, shops, and more. A must for visitors when you have explored other parts of Okinawa. They have nice arcades and plenty of food options. Plenty of souvenirs and Okinawa based businesses to support.
Great place to either chill, have a meal, enjoy the scenic view of the sea or to even shop for souvenirs. Colourful and enchanted looking buildings around the village make it a great photo spot too.

1. A highly recommended spot to visit during a rental car trip in Okinawa, especially stunning at night.
2. With various restaurants and shopping stores, it’s a great place to take a leisurely stroll and explore.
3. Although there’s a large parking lot, it tends to get crowded in the evening, so staying overnight at a nearby hotel is also recommended.
I felt that the American Village was a vibrant mini "city" that offers a unique blend of American and Okinawan culture. With its retro American-style architecture, Ferris wheel, and wide variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, it felt that there was a mini slice of the U.S. in the heart of Okinawa. The atmosphere was energetic, and there's something for everyone, from shopping and dining to enjoying live music and the beach nearby. It grew especially more charming in the evening when the area lights up, creating a bit of a festive vibe. While it can be a bit touristy, the American Village provides a fun experience that's perfect for those looking to explore a different side of Okinawa.
I strongly recommend bringing an umbrella as a good portion of the American Village is not sheltered and going in between the clusters of shops require some walking under open air. Enjoy!
