This is a huge park perfect for elementary kids. You can easily spend half a day inside. They have different playground facilities that are well mentained. We entered from the South gate, rented bicycles, then went to the West side of the park. We only had time to play around Kids Dome, Water park, and Wood obstacle course. Kids had a blast.

This Saitama national park is renowned for its flowers and offers excellent bicycle rental at the central entrance - both electric and regular bikes available for use on dedicated cycling paths. The route toward the north gate features stunning flower gardens and greenhouses that attract many dog owners for photos, with beautifully maintained blooms and well-kept grounds.
The park includes a large reservoir and cycling the entire area takes 2-3 hours at a brisk pace, probably 4 hours if you want to leisurely explore and properly appreciate the scenery. With relatively few crowds, it’s perfect for peaceful time in a beautiful natural environment. The cycling infrastructure and flower displays make it an ideal escape from urban life.

Beautifully-landscaped park. Gardens with sculptures, pond, gurgling creek, open fields, bike route, paved and unpaved strolling paths.
Small enough park to walk all over, perfect for spending half a day or so.

The park is huge and not possible to see every corner of it on foot, but there are some main areas that visitors can visit easily thanks to the signboards. The car park might be trouble on a busy day but driving is still the best way to reach out to the park.
Adult and high school student admission is 450 yen, while seniors aged 65 and older pay 210 yen. Junior high school students and younger children can enter for free. If you plan to use the internal park bus, individual rides cost 210 yen or you can purchase a day pass for 400 yen to travel between the different gates and popular spots throughout the park.
The most convenient access is via the Tobu Tojo Line to Shinrin-Koen Station, followed by a local bus that takes approximately 10 minutes to reach the park. Alternatively, you can take the JR Takasaki Line to Kumagaya Station and continue from there. The park has four entrances (Central, North, West, and South), so check which entrance is closest to your planned activities. Parking is available at all entrances for those traveling by car.
The park spans 304 hectares of forested land. Walking from the South Entrance to the North Entrance covers 5 kilometers and takes roughly 80 minutes on foot. Due to the park's size, consider renting a bicycle to explore more efficiently—the cycling circuit is approximately 16 kilometers long, and rental costs around 500 yen for three hours. You can also use the internal park bus to move between areas if you prefer not to walk or cycle.
The park offers diverse recreational activities including cycling on dedicated paths, athletic facilities, playground equipment, and Japan's largest air trampoline. Barbecue areas are available for group gatherings. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy seasonal flower displays, particularly the plumed cockscomb flowers that bloom from early September to early October. The varied landscapes of forests, ponds, swamps, marshes, and grasslands provide excellent opportunities for nature observation and photography throughout all seasons.
Each season offers unique attractions at Musashi Kyuryo. Spring and autumn provide comfortable temperatures for cycling and outdoor activities. Early September to early October is particularly popular for viewing the plumed cockscomb flowers, which can grow up to 30cm during peak bloom. The park's extensive forested areas also showcase beautiful autumn foliage. Since the park opened in 1974 as Japan's first national government park, it has been designed to highlight seasonal changes throughout the year, making any season rewarding for visitors.
