What other travelers are saying about Shiranoe Botanical Gardens
I went during November, so there weren't any flowers. It looks like it's much better in the Spring. It does have a nice view of the sea from the top. I think it's a nice place for a short hike since it's located on a hill. The cost is also quite cheap! They have a discount for foreigners too.
A pleasant visit. Though we did not covered the whole garden, we did enjoy autumn leaves in the garden. We were also pleasantly surprised when the lady at the ticket counter offered us a 20% discount on the entrance ticket. 😊
2023/11/17 - maple trees have not turned fully red yet. Probably 1 more week to see autumn colours 🍁 Quiet and Rainy day. Will be 5⭐if come at the right time.
We reached about 3.30pm, which is just over an hr before it closes, and we were ushered in without the need for tickets.
Japanese makes their gardens different. We regret not coming earlier to properly finish touring the garden. It's so beautiful!
The best time to visit depends on what you want to see. Spring is great for cherry blossoms, summer is full of green trees, and autumn has beautiful red and yellow leaves. Winter is quieter but still offers a peaceful atmosphere with evergreen trees.
Yes, many birds live in the gardens. The trees and plants attract local and migratory birds, making it a good place for birdwatching. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to see birds.
Yes, there are walking paths that go through the gardens. The trails let visitors enjoy different plants, flowers, and views. The paths are easy to walk on and suitable for all ages.
The gardens have benches and places to rest along the paths. Some gardens in Japan also have visitor centers with plant information. There may be cafes or shops nearby, depending on the location.
Visitors can take a bus from Kitakyushu’s main stations, or they can take a taxi. If driving, there is parking available near the gardens. Checking local bus schedules before visiting is a good idea.
