Very nice hotel. Very comfortable and beautiful rooms, very nice food and drinks. Large parking. Friendly personality. Amazing views. Very rich nature. A lot of different trees, shrubs and beautiful flowers. Nearby is a fascinating waterfalls and great river. Quite and peaceful place. Recommended.
I stayed at Takimien, located near Awamata Falls in Yoro Valley. The biggest attraction wasn't just its proximity to Takimi, but the sound of the waterfall itself. The soothing sound of the waterfall, whether relaxing in the hot spring, reading in my room, or enjoying a drink after a bath, enhanced the relaxation effect. The hot springs are separated by gender, with both the ocean-side and open-air baths (2), but the water was just the right temperature and soft enough to avoid fatigue even after a long soak.
Dinner was centered around fish dishes, and the simmered golden-eyed amberjack boasted a rich, fatty sweetness and umami, perfectly seasoned, and paired perfectly with sake. While there were no flashy presentations, each dish was carefully prepared.
The room facilities were a bit dated, and the power outlets and other amenities were a bit inconvenient compared to business hotels, but the hospitality of the staff and the tranquility of the space more than made up for it. Considering the distance from the city center, I felt this was a great place to relax and unwind.
