They wouldn't let me check in when it was late at night and I was freezing cold. I had to sleep in a chair in their lobby. At least they let me sleep in a chair in the lobby, other hotels wouldn't let me in to get warm. I was about to call 119 because I was getting so cold outside and no one would give me shelter (I had a bicycle, not a car). Then I asked to please be allowed to get hot water from the drink bar and would pay any price, they refused. Give me a break, have some compassion. I asked if I could just get an onsen since they wouldn't let me get a room until 11am (I slept in the lobby chair from 2am-7am). Nope. So I just left. I would have gladly paid and was desperate to pay for room, onsen, food, and was refused all three because it wasn't 11am. Stupid.
The sashimi and other seafood was excellent. At dinner, we had grouper sashimi and hot pot, and the sushi ingredients were also of high quality. Breakfast also featured freshly filleted flounder and red sea bream sashimi (there was also yellowtail and tuna), and the pickled flounder flounder and amberjack were a luxurious and satisfying selection. There was a wide variety of other dishes, and they were all generally delicious.
The room was also well-cleaned, allowing us to relax. As it was a holiday, it wasn't cheap at around 45,000 yen per person, but it was a great trip.
I used the hot springs for a day trip.
The hotel was clean and had amenities provided, so I was able to use the baths comfortably. Day trips are allowed until 3:00 p.m., but cars started arriving one after another after 3:00 p.m. It seems like the hotel is also popular for overnight stays. I'd like to stay overnight next time.
I was on a one-day bus tour organized by the local community, and we had a set lunch and a bath. Many of the staff were foreigners. The warm water was just right, with a view of the ocean. Unfortunately, we couldn't go out to the open-air bath due to the strong wind. We could see Mt. Fuji.
