Kaleidoscope Gallery Misegura

The Kaleidoscope Gallery Misegura occupies a traditional storehouse built in 1889 (Meiji 22) in Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture. Originally part of Teradaen Chaho, the misegura served as both a shop and residence for a tea merchant and operated until the mid-Showa era. In 2010, the historic structure was renovated and transformed into a kaleidoscope gallery on its first floor.

The gallery showcases works by Yasuko Nakazato, a world-renowned kaleidoscope artist native to Nagareyama City. The collection features kaleidoscopes from around the world, including pieces that have won prestigious awards at international kaleidoscope design conventions. Visitors can both admire the intricate optical art pieces and purchase kaleidoscopes from the gallery's selection. The historic building itself adds cultural value to the experience, offering a glimpse into Meiji-era commercial architecture.
