Soichiro Honda Craftsmanship Center

The Soichiro Honda Craftsmanship Center honors the achievements of Soichiro Honda (1906-1991), the legendary founder of Honda Motor Company who was born and raised in Komyo Village in what is now Tenryu Ward of Hamamatsu City. This museum communicates Honda's personality and craftsman's spirit to the public, showcasing the industrial heritage of one of Japan's most influential entrepreneurs who built a global enterprise from a small factory in Hamamatsu.

The center is housed in the former town hall building, which has been designated as a registered tangible cultural property. Located in the renovated Old Futamata Town Hall, the museum provides visitors with insight into Honda's journey from local craftsman to automotive pioneer. The exhibits include photographs, videos, and early motorcycles that chronicle Honda's development of the company and his contributions to Japanese industrial history.

Visitors can explore displays featuring Honda's famous quotes, historical vehicles he was involved in developing, and artifacts that illustrate his manufacturing philosophy. The center is located at 1112 Futamata, Futamata-cho, Tenryu-ku, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. From Nishikashima Station on the Enshu Railway, take the Entetsu Bus bound for San'in, get off at "Futamatanakacho" and walk for 3 minutes.
