Yumigahama Beach

Yumigahama Beach is located at the southernmost tip of the Izu Peninsula in Minamiizu Town, Kamo County, Shizuoka Prefecture. The name derives from the beach's distinctive bow-like arc shape, with "yumi" meaning bow in Japanese. This white sand beach stretches approximately 1,200 meters along the coast, creating a sweeping crescent that has earned it recognition as one of Japan's Top 100 Beaches.

The beach is distinguished by pine trees planted along the shoreline, which create a striking visual contrast against the white sand. This combination of white sand and pine groves against the deep blue sea has made Yumigahama one of the Izu Peninsula's premier coastal destinations, alongside Imaihama Beach and Shirahama Beach. From Shimoda, bus services connect to Minamiizu Town, though the beach is not within easy walking distance of any train station. Visitors should plan for bus transport or private vehicle access from Shimoda. Parking is available near the beach for a daily fee. The beach is free to access, with no admission charges. The nearest major airport is Shizuoka Airport, located approximately 42 miles from the beach.
