Your adventure continues to Showa Shinzan, a fascinating volcanic area where you can choose how to spend your time. Opt for a ride on the Usuzan Ropeway to enjoy panoramic views or visit the Bear Ranch to see local wildlife up close. The day ends with a scenic stop at Silo Observatory (or Nakayama Pass in winter) for picturesque views of Lake Toya before returning to Sapporo.

Be ready to check in and meet your guide before we depart promptly at 8:30 a.m. Please note: During winter, shorter daylight hours and snow may limit walking areas. The time at each stop may be adjusted by 10 to 15 minutes.

Duration: 30 minutes

Visit the famous Jigokudani, also known as Hell Valley. Marvel at the steaming vents and bubbling hot springs surrounded by a rugged volcanic landscape. This is a stunning and unique experience that showcases Hokkaido’s geothermal wonders.

Relax in the serene Lake Toya Onsen Town, where the lakeside views offer a perfect escape. You can dip your feet into a rejuvenating hot spring foot bath and unwind. Lunch is not included, so feel free to explore nearby restaurants to enjoy a meal of your choice.

Enjoy free time at Showa Shinzan, a unique volcanic landmark. Choose between two plans:

  • Standard Plan: Explore the area at your leisure.

  • Optional Plan: Take the Usuzan Ropeway for breathtaking views or visit the Bear Ranch to see local wildlife. The ropeway summit features a cozy café with a fantastic viewpoint for relaxing.

Silo Observatory or Nakayama Pass [Winter] (Est. 16:10)
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop at the Silo Observatory for panoramic views of Lake Toya during warmer months. In winter, when sunsets are earlier, the stop will be replaced by Nakayama Pass Road Station, where you can rest and enjoy light snacks or browse souvenirs.
