Meet your guide outside Ueno Station's Park Gate Exit, just outside the ticket gates. Look for a Snow Monkey Resorts tour tag. The Park Gate Exit is most easily reached via the JR Yamanote Line — follow the signs inside the station.

Begin at one of Tokyo's most prominent museums, located adjacent to Ueno Station. Your guide will introduce the museum and its key exhibits, including a life-sized blue whale model, a steam locomotive, and the taxidermied body of Hachiko — Tokyo's most famous dog. The museum occupies a Meiji-period building with notable architecture.

Walk through Ueno Park on a guided tour of its temples, shrines, and lakeside area. Stops include a large bronze Buddha face, a walkway of red torii gates, and a gold-leafed shrine. At the lake, the view combines water birds and koi carp against a backdrop of high-rise buildings.

Continue to Ameyoko, a lively retro shopping and dining area with a post-war history rooted in black market trade. Your guide will cover the history and significance of the street before guests have free time for lunch, shopping, and independent exploration. A wide variety of restaurants, food stalls, and shops are available in the area.

Visit the Asakura Museum of Sculpture, the former home and workshop of renowned Japanese sculptor Fumio Asakura. The guided visit covers the artist's work and history within the original traditional Japanese building. The museum includes a central Japanese garden, a rooftop terrace with views across Yanaka and the Tokyo skyline — including the Tokyo Skytree — and display rooms showcasing Asakura's sculptures.

Join a guided walk through Yanaka Ginza, the neighborhood's main shopping street known for its cat theme, local artisan shops, street food, and traditional standing bars. Your guide will point out notable shops and recommend local snacks.

Visit a Buddhist temple in Yanaka known for its impressive Buddha statues, before walking through Yanaka Cemetery and along Sakura Dori. The cemetery is a popular local walking route and is home to the graves of sumo wrestlers, samurai, and aristocrats. In spring, Sakura Dori is lined with cherry blossoms.
