太平洋と東シナ海がぶつかる沖合からの荒波が、隆起したサンゴ礁の断崖絶壁に打ち付ける様はとてもダイナミック。写真では分かりづらいけど、今日は晴れで22キロ離れた鹿児島県の与論島や沖永良部島を水平線上に見えた。
岬の中心に建てられている1972年の日本祖国復帰闘争碑やヤンバルクイナ風の与論島・国頭村友好記念碑も。
