Lake Ogute is a mountain lake at 730 meters elevation in Shimojo Village, Nagano Prefecture. Shirasagiso is a ryokan on the lake shore offering accommodations from 12,100 JPY per room. The lake is free to access publicly, while the ryokan provides paid lodging and lakeside facilities.

Views of the Southern Alps from 730 meters elevation. The lake has distinctive green waters and contains a small island with a water god shrine. Wild grasses and alpine plants surround the area. Early morning offers birdwatching opportunities.
Several regional attractions are located within a 10-minute drive of Lake Ogute. These include Gokurakutouge Panorama Observatory (4.4 kilometers away), Nyutozan Shrine at 777 meters elevation (2.2 kilometers away), and Cosmos Onsen, a village-operated hot spring facility. The scenic Tenryu Gorge and Achi River are also nearby. This makes Lake Ogute an ideal base for exploring the southern Shinshu region of Nagano Prefecture, with multiple natural and cultural sites accessible within a short distance.
