Tsukiusagi no Sato

Tsukiusagi no Sato, which translates to Moon Rabbit Village, is a rabbit theme park located in Nagaimachi, Kaga City in Ishikawa Prefecture. The park takes its name from an ancient local legend about a rabbit that saved the village from devastating floods after previously being rescued by a kind man. Since then, rabbits have been regarded in the Kaga region as symbols of good fortune, with the name "tsuki" carrying the double meaning of both "moon" and "luck" in Japanese.

The park houses over 50 free-roaming rabbits that visitors can interact with in an open garden setting. These rabbits are accustomed to human contact and are generally friendly, allowing guests to pet and feed them freely. The park also features an on-site museum displaying animal sculptures and traditional Ishikawa lacquerware, showcasing regional craftsmanship. Additional facilities include restaurants serving local cuisine, a gift shop that claims to be Japan's largest rabbit goods shop, and spaces for traditional craft workshops with advance reservations.

Visitors can enter the main area and interact with the rabbits for an entrance fee of ¥300 for adults and ¥200 for children (elementary school age and under), while infants aged 3 and under enter free. Rabbit food can be purchased from automatic dispensers on-site. The park operates as both a dedicated attraction and a roadside rest stop, making it accessible for travelers passing through the region.

From Kaga Onsen Station, accessible via the Hokuriku Shinkansen, the park is approximately 15 minutes by taxi or by taking the Kaga City Bus (Line 1 or 2) toward Nagaimachi with a fare of around ¥200-300. For those driving, the park is located off Route 8 with on-site parking available.
