Yunotsu Onsen is a historic hot spring town in Oda City, Shimane Prefecture, on the Sea of Japan coast. The town's proximity to Iwami Ginzan, approximately 10 kilometers inland, makes it a natural base for exploring the silver mine heritage sites, mountain trails, and preserved mining villages. Yunotsu Onsen is accessible by train via the JR San'in Main Line to Yunotsu Station, with limited express services from Izumo (approximately 60 minutes) and Matsue (approximately 90 minutes). From the station, the onsen district is roughly 5 minutes on foot. Visitors from Hiroshima can reach Yunotsu via train connections through Gotsu Station, with total journey times around 2-3 hours. Buses connect Yunotsu Onsen to Iwami Ginzan and surrounding areas, though schedules are limited.
