We visited on May 10, 2026, arriving around 5:30 PM. The floating torii gate is absolutely beautiful, but its appearance changes completely depending on the tide! Seeing it at low tide vs. high tide gives you two totally different, yet uniquely amazing experiences. Pro-Tip: I highly recommend checking the tide schedule online before you head out. It makes it much easier to predict the best time to arrive depending on whether you want to see it floating surrounded by water, or walk right up to its massive base on the sand at low tide. As a big bonus, there was ample parking space available, which made the logistics super easy and stress-free!

there was almost nobody inside the shrine, and the most thing i enjoyed was feeding the fishes. i suppose it’s a good thing that there was nobody. it does look pretty good tho with no entry fee

Be sure to check the high tide timing if you want to see 'floating gates'. Low tide means that you can walk out the gates and the 'underwater' road. If you are aiming for sunset, please aim to be there at least half an hour before sunset time. It gets pretty nippy on the sea side - pick up a hot drink at the nearest Family Mart or 7E before you go.

Recommended to see for a quick stop while on your way to another site or if you want a quick getaway by the water. I went around midday while the tide was low so it was easy to walk all the way out to the last gate

Beautiful gorge awesome nature around it’s surrounding. Boat rides take a while and could be closed sometime depending on the weather heavy rainfall. Aside that it could be a wait time for at least 1-2 hours. The wait time at the parking might be an issue during peak seasons or holidays. But lovely place to forest bath and could be a romantic boat ride.
