Forest Adventure in Onna offers an outdoor tree-top adventure experience located in the village of Onna on Okinawa's main island. This aerial obstacle course park sits within the lush subtropical forest that characterizes northern Okinawa, providing visitors with a unique way to engage with the island's natural environment while enjoying physical challenges at various heights.

The park operates as part of the growing eco-tourism movement in Okinawa, which has gained momentum since the early 2000s as the prefecture seeks to diversify its tourism offerings beyond beaches and historical sites. Forest Adventure parks originated in France and expanded to Japan, with the Onna location opening to capitalize on the region's dense forest canopy and appealing to both domestic and international visitors seeking active outdoor experiences.

Visitors navigate through suspended obstacles, zip lines, and rope bridges constructed among the trees, with courses designed for different skill levels and age groups. The Discovery Course accommodates younger participants and beginners, while the Canopy Course presents more challenging elements at greater heights for experienced adventurers.

Safety equipment including harnesses and helmets are provided, and trained staff conduct mandatory safety briefings before each session. The experience typically takes one to three hours depending on the chosen course and individual pace.

The park is located approximately 60 kilometers north of Naha, Okinawa's capital city. Visitors traveling by car should take the Okinawa Expressway northbound and exit at Ishikawa IC, then follow Route 58 north toward Onna. The journey from Naha takes roughly one hour. Public transportation options are limited, though some resort hotels in the area offer shuttle services. Taxi services from nearby accommodations provide another alternative for those without rental vehicles.

awesome experience! strictly recommended if you are on Okinawa island, don’t miss this adventure! lots of fun guaranteed! we had to skip our first attempt because of missing sun protection clothing and I kindly ask if I could maybe get a little discount if we come back another day but the honest guy gave me two full valid vouchers which I did not expect. This became the highlight of my solo trip in Okinawa! Hands down the best investment and my advice for anyone trying it for the first time is to not know the details of the course you’re taking. It’ll heighten the element of fun, excitement and adventure! I usually review with lots of photos but I don’t want to spoil the fun for anyone. I had the best time and finish the course in 1 hour because I was alone and started out first. If you’re there with a group, it should be 1.5-2 hours long. It’s easy to make reservation online, parking was relatively easy to spot too, there’s a van that’ll bring you in to the entrance and from there, enjoy the wild and adventure ☺️ I’ll definitely explore other forest adventures in mainland Japan :)
Forest Adventure in Onna offers an absolutely thrilling and unforgettable ziplining experience! If you're looking for an adrenaline rush combined with stunning natural scenery, this is definitely the place to go. The course is well-designed, providing a fantastic mix of challenging obstacles and exhilarating ziplines that send you soaring through the trees. It's not just about speed; there are plenty of moments to appreciate the beautiful forest surroundings as you navigate the different sections. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and ensure everyone feels safe and confident throughout the entire adventure. They provide clear instructions and are always there to offer encouragement. Whether you're an experienced adventurer or trying ziplining for the first time, Forest Adventure in Onna is a must-do activity. It's a fantastic way to get active, challenge yourself, and create some amazing memories. Highly recommended for a fun and exciting day out!
I cisited back in 2011 and came back recently and its a fun quick time. The website says up to 3.5hrs for course but it only us 1.25hrs. Its wasnt many people there so no long waits at ziplines. Staff is really sweet. Make sure to have cash.
Really enjoyed this! The staff were really nice and accommodating. The views were wonderful and I had a great time interacting with other customers, too. Unfortunately, I had to drop out halfway through the course because I had hit my leg too hard, and it had swelled up really badly, but I don't regret anything! Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, be mindful that you might get some bruises. You can buy water/sports drinks on arrival if you didn't bring any. The dog, Maru-chan will welcome you with a wiggly tail and will definitely brighten your day!
