What other travelers are saying about Heart Rock, Okinawa
Lovely beach with crashing waves. We were there on a misty/raining afternoon and had the beach to ourselves. Didn't visit any of the stands or food courts.
There is a place called Love Rock (Heat Rock) in Okinawa. This is a popular romantic spot, and it's Teenu Hana Beach in Kouri Island. The sunset is especially crowded with people, and the same goes for photo spots, so be prepared to come. It's still hot and humid in October in Okinawa, so I recommend spending time at the beach.
It was very hot there. Pay parking can vary from 200 to 300 Yen. Walking down pathway is a bit steep, but there are some high steps to deal with, or some rocks on the side which are less steep, but you might have to go around people.
The beach and the water were indescribably beautiful. It's a shame we didn't bring our swimsuit cause this is one of clearest water I've seen in Okinawa, The rocks are beautiful too, great place to take picture or just to swim. The road to get there from the main island also crosses the Kouri bridge with really nice view.
Highly recommend checking this spot out!
Great spot! Sand looked really nice but waves come in pretty strong, just a good scenic lookout and picture spot, can't actually stay on that's beach...
Visit during low tide to access the rocks more easily and see the heart shape clearly. Early morning hours have fewer crowds. The site is open year-round, though summer months from June to August are busiest.
Drive north from Naha on the Okinawa Expressway toward Nago, then follow roads to Yagaji Island and cross the Kouri Bridge to Kouri Island. The journey takes approximately 90 minutes by car. Rental cars are necessary as public transportation is limited. Follow signs to Tīnu Beach where Heart Rock is located.
Yes, swimming and snorkeling are possible at Tīnu Beach. No lifeguards are present. Water shoes are recommended due to rocky areas. Avoid swimming during typhoon season from July to October or in poor weather conditions.
The island has the Kouri Ocean Tower for ocean views, the Kouri Bridge scenic drive, additional beaches for swimming, and restaurants serving seafood and Okinawan cuisine. The island can be explored in half a day.
