A stunning must-visit destination in Ibaraki Prefecture! I visited in April and was blown away by the endless fields of blue Nemophila and the vibrant tulip gardens with hundreds of colors. The park is massive and offers beautiful sea views, along with plenty of food and drink options. There is even an amusement park area with fun rides and games, making it perfect for a full-day trip. Highly recommended for nature lovers and families alike.
We enjoyed our time at the park and were fortunate enough to visit during full blooming of tulips, which are one of my favourite flowers.
The train was an excellent way to see the whole park including some parts that most may not see. The commentary was also very interesting and informative. We used the Samsung Interpreter app which worked better than Google for longer stretches of commentary.
There were also rental bikes available and many food carts throughout the park, but most are unhealthy or junk food. The park has free picnic mats and outdoor lounging chairs to rest.
Would love to return and take our time to enjoy the park at a slower pace. In fact, if we had known how lovely and large it was, we would have changed our itinerary and purchase a 2 day pass. If time allows, I recommend doing the 2 day pass.
Hitachi Seaside Park is a huge and beautiful park that offers something for everyone. The famous nemophila flowers create an amazing blue landscape with breathtaking views. There are many food stalls and eateries throughout the park, which makes visiting even more enjoyable.
In another section of the park, you can see colorful tulips, relaxing lake views, plenty of seating areas, and fun play zones for kids. It is a great place for families and nature lovers.
The park can get very crowded, so it is best to carry your tickets in advance. Strollers are available for children under 2 years old, but for kids above 2, it is better to bring your own stroller since the park is very large and children can get tired easily.
Overall, Hitachi Seaside Park is a wonderful destination for a full day of fun, flowers, and scenic beauty.
I had the best day tour at Hitachi sea side park when in Japan. Place was so calm and covered with flowers, adventures and other activities, food trucks, souvenir shops and many more.
The fragrance of the Rose flower in the park was sook🥹🫰🏻
Entry ticket was 450 yen.
Train was 700 yen for a day.
And many more.
You have to walk a lot or go around in train and get down at each places. You can access here from Katsuta Station and from there you get direct bus to the seaside park. Perfect for a day trip. Opens at 9.30. Pets are allowed inside.
Hitachi Seaside Park is one of the most beloved and famous places in Ibaraki. This vast park is most famous for its hillside of nemophila flowers, also known as blue-eyed irises, which stretch like a jade green carpet in spring (from mid-April onwards), and in autumn (October) the hillside is dyed a vibrant red by kokia plants. In addition, the park features many other flowers at different times of the year, such as daffodils, tulips, sunflowers, and a beautiful field of rapeseed flowers. Besides the flower fields, the park also offers amusement parks and adventure games, traditional Japanese houses from the past, and is especially the venue for the annual "Rock in Japan" event.
