What other travelers are saying about Ishigaki Lighthouse
My wife and I really enjoyed visiting here and seeing the wonderful view of the ocean and cliffs. I think original it was just a local light house that became a sight seeing spot. The parking is limited so you might have to wait a few minutes for someone to leave. And there were a good amount of tourists there as well. Over all though a pretty solid spot to visit.
The viewing platform offers a sense of hidden adventure, with strong winds adding to the dramatic atmosphere. The vast panoramic view will lift your spirits. It's a bit of a drive, but well worth it.
Nice views even in the low tide. Really good ice cream from the food truck on the lower parking (left side of the road).
A nice view but not worth taking a drive up here unless there are other things on the north end of the island that you also plan to see.
The lighthouse itself is small and rather underwhelming, but the scenario surrounding it is like taken straight out of a Ghibli movie! A small parking spot with vending machines and. Lean toilets. Follow the pathway to the «Lovers’ light house» and alsoyou can follow the path to the top for a great view of the area. The light house is closed for public visitors.
