What other travelers are saying about Ishigakiyama Castle Historical Park
This is a place in Odawara where a castle used to be. The biggest benefit to come here is the views you can get of Odawara.
It's a nice and peaceful place to chill out as well.
A typical visit takes 60 to 90 minutes to walk the paths, view the stone ruins, and reach the observation deck. Allow 2 hours if visiting during cherry blossom season or if you plan to picnic.
Late March to early April for cherry blossoms. Winter offers the clearest views of Mount Fuji. The park is accessible year-round, with each season providing different scenery.
The park requires uphill walking on uneven terrain and stone paths. The approach from the bus stop involves a 20-minute uphill walk, followed by additional climbing within the park. It is not suitable for wheelchairs or visitors with significant mobility limitations.
Restrooms are located at the entrance, and there is a rest area near the summit. No restaurants, shops, or food vendors operate within the park. The nearest services are in central Odawara.
No. Only the stone walls and ramparts remain from the 1590 fortress. The castle was never fully completed and was abandoned after Hideyoshi's campaign ended.
This is one of my favorite places to take my dog for a walk. The views are stunning. There is a public toilet at the top. There is a nice large piece of grass, perfect for your kids to play, or even your dog.
Please be sure to pick up after your dog. There seems to be a significant amount of time invested to make this place look as well kept.
If you're hungry after, there is a shop across the street where you can buy some sweets and local products.
